Technology Evaluation

Technology in leading edge industries undergoes rapid changes that have major impact on organizations. The semiconductor industry is a prime example of continual, rapid changes in technology. The industry-wide evaluations of the "Next Generation Lithography" provided a focus on the key elements of the technologies and an evaluation of the development required for successful implementation. Cost to develop, cost to implement, and cost of usage are all key elements of this process. Evaluation of each element and the sum of the combined contribution is crucial to the evaluation of a technology. Accounting for these contributors permitted organizations to plan their efforts to focus on the items required for successful development. The Foundation personnel were involved in every aspect of these successful efforts.
